Entropy:

What's entropy?

Entropy measures how difficult a password is to guess. The higher the entropy, the harder it is for someone to crack your password. It's measured in bits, and generally, more bits means a stronger password!

What's a good entropy value?

Below 28 bits: Very weak. Easy to guess.
28 - 35 bits: Weak. Could be cracked fairly quickly.
36 - 59 bits: Moderate. Decent, but could be better.
60 - 79 bits: Strong. Good for most everyday uses.
80+ bits: Very strong. Great for keeping your accounts safe.

How can I make my password stronger?

Try making your password longer and using a mix of lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers and symbols. The longer and more random your password is, the harder it is to guess!

Keep in mind that entropy is only an estimate. A password can look complicated but still be easy to guess if it follows a predictable pattern. That's why randomly generated passwords are usually a good choice!
